Impression of the Brazil ILP 2012

We were delighted to be able to work with 26 participants from 11 different nationalities during the second Brazilian International Leadership Programme in São Roque near São Paulo, Brazil in January this year. The environment was very enriching, both in terms of the stunning nature, as well as the intelligence, passion, goodwill and inner wisdom of all participating young leaders.

Martin, a participant from Argentina said: "We were able to get to know and develop those aspects of ourselves that demands more attention, in a very appropriate and friendly environment. WYSE gave the opportunity to reinforce our gifts of service and to become better people".

Brazilian Newspaper Cruzeiro Do Sul wrote an article on an event promoted by the Department of Youth to promote the work of WYSE and begin to identify young people from the city of Sorocaba and the region who may be interested in participating in one of the upcoming programs. During the event, Regional Ambassador Luciano Frontelle gave a wonderful presentation and was afterwards interviewed on the radio.

A participant's story

My first challenge of many that would came was to decide to go to the program. I knew that those 12 days would be completely different from anything I had have ever done, but somehow knew I should go. Now I realize that I was right to listen to that inner voice. During the program I was able to understand and accept my intuition.

"Sometimes what you're looking for may be nearer than you think it is"

In these 12 days we created a family whose connection goes beyond oceans and continents even after each one had returned home. In São Roque I created a new home that has no fixed place; it is where my heart is. I discovered a strength and courage which had no knowledge, and that is how I managed to overcome and grow so much in so little time.
